Alaqua Animal Refuge believes that every abused, neglected and homeless animal deserves a second chance. Alaqua provides protection, shelter and care to animals in need, and advocates for their welfare through educational outreach and community programs. Keep Pensacola Beautiful educates people to take action and improve the community of Escambia county. Additionally, the organization cleans over 80 parks and boat ramps. Volunteers focus on beautification, recycling and litter awareness and prevention. Beach and park clean ups are available upon request, or join in on one of Keep Pensacola Beautiful's events. The Emerald Coast Science Center strives to inspire and grow a scientifically engaged community. The center promotes STEM educations and public outreach in Okaloosa county. The Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance promotes swimmable, fishable waterways in the community through monitoring, education, restoration and research. Volunteer activities include oyster gardening, monitoring water quality, creating reef breakwaters and more. The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation's mission is to build the foundation of art and culture in the community. MKAF is known for its cultural events and children's educational outreach programs. Also, MKAF partners with over 50 schools in Northwest Florida to deliver a diverse art education curriculum. Volunteers can assist at one of the foundation's many events or serve as an artist mentor. The Friends of Camp Helen State Park is a Citizen Support Organization dedicated to preserving, maintaining and improving the park through volunteer projects, community events and fundraising.
