Fishing is a favorite activity of all of our beach vacation communities along the Gulf Coast, and Orange Beach is no different. With the open waters of the Gulf of Mexico just outside your door and three area lakes nearby, you will find ample opportunities during your stay in an Orange Beach vacation rental to reel in a big one!
You can elect to fish saltwater or freshwater during your stay in Coastal Alabama, just be sure to pick up the correct fishing license on your way in to town. Avid fishermen won’t want to miss the annual spring Cobia run, but many species of fish call the waters beyond Orange Beach home. Visit any time of year to reel in a great catch both inshore as well as along the area’s artificial reef. Venture even farther out to take your shot at bringing in sport fish such as Tuna and Marlin.
While you can certainly cast a line just off our powder-white sandy shores, the most popular fishing location is out in deep water aboard a fishing charter. See a list of our favorite charter captain’s below or head over to the Gulf Shores and Orange Beach marinas.
Orange Beach offers many opportunities for outdoor fun beyond your usual beach day. While you will certainly find many attractions and activities centered around our white sand and emerald green waters, the area also offers many ways to explore nature, learn a bit of history and, of course, relax.
While you are with us, fly high above the beach, quench your need for speed or experience our area sea life with traditional water sports and dolphin cruises. Go beyond the beach with a trek through Gulf State Park. You will also find plenty of outdoor events to enjoy while in town, as well. For details, be sure to read our Gulf Coast blog before heading to the beach. See a list of all our favorite outdoor activities below.
