Planning Your Last Minute Holiday Getaway~ Southern Vacation Rentals
The end of the year is fast approaching! We blinked, and suddenly Thanksgiving is next week! With orchestrating the holidays and spending time with family, it’s easy to get swept up in everything around you and not make time for yourself. For couples and empty-nesters, here are a few things you can do to make planning your last minute holiday getaway a little easier.
- First City Lights Festival – From November 23rd until January 31st, experience the magical First City Lights Festival in Downtown Pensacola. The holiday lighting ceremony launches right after the Winterfest Elf Parade on November 23rd. Over 400,000 white lights adorn historic buildings, shops, galleries, and outdoor spaces in Downtown Pensacola. During the festival, catch a season-long lineup of festive holiday events! This includes a performance of The Nutcracker at Pensacola’s Saenger Theatre and Christmas carolers around every corner. This is a great chance to do some holiday shopping, or simply walk the streets and enjoy the lights!
- 7th Annual 30A 10K – Work up an appetite for Thanksgiving with the 7th Annual 30A 10K! Choose between the 10K, 5K, or 1 Mile Fun Run. The 10K begins at 7:30 AM, while the 5K starts at 7:45. Those participating in the 1 Mile Fun Run won’t have to be at the starting point until 9:30 AM! All races will begin and end at Downtown Rosemary Beach on Scenic 30A, giving you the best view during your run.
- “A Charlie Brown Christmas” Live on Tour – Watch this Christmas classic be brought to life on stage at the Pensacola Saenger Theatre! Join Charlie Brown and the rest of the Peanuts gang on December 13th from 7:30-9 PM as they discover the true meaning of Christmas. “A Charlie Brown Christmas” features Vince Guaraldi’s unforgettable music performed by a three-piece ensemble. It wouldn’t be a Peanuts production without the beloved holiday carols, either!
- “Reelin’ in the New Year at The Wharf” – Don your finest holiday attire and ring in the new year in style! “Reelin’ in the New Year at The Wharf” is Orange Beach, Alabama’s premier New Year’s Eve street party. Held on December 31st from 5 PM until 12 AM on January 1st, this event is fun for all ages! Get ready to dance the night away to live music performed by local bands. As an added bonus, admission is free and open to the public!
Of course, you’ll need somewhere to stay for all these fun events! For Thanksgiving, come down to Pensacola Beach, Florida and stay at Emerald Isle 704. This two bedroom condo comfortably sleeps six guests, making it ideal for a cozy couples’ getaway. Enjoy unbeatable views of the Gulf of Mexico while you lounge on your private balcony! Or, treat yourself to a relaxing week at the beach with Adagio 403B. Perfect for the whole family, this 30A vacation rental sleeps 10!
