Gulf Coast Weather
The weather on the Gulf Coast is most notable for its bright blue skies and warm temperatures, both of which can be enjoyed almost year-round. Regardless of the season, you’ll find our powder white sand beaches inviting and the Gulf of Mexico waters refreshing, both physically and mentally.
As the temperature rises, so does the popularity of our beaches. What better place is there to cool off, after all? The summer months tend to mark the most popular time of year to visit our shores. The Northwest Florida and Coastal Alabama weather can be quite hot during this time and is marked by long days, very sunny skies and the occasional afternoon shower. You’ll want to pack waterproof sunscreen and plan to spend a lot of time in the pool or splashing in the waves.
The spring and fall months are characterized by brilliant blue skies and slightly milder temperatures. This is a great time of year to spend exploring the beach communities and trying out a few Gulf Coast activities such as deep sea fishing, in addition to relaxing on the less crowded shoreline. If visiting in the late fall or very early spring, a light jacket should probably be added to your packing list for the occasionally cool evening. This is also a terrific time of year to have family beach photos taken. Be sure to check for deals and discounts from area photographers available with Southern Perks.
While winter may seem like a strange time to visit the beach, it can actually be a wonderful escape from the typically cold or even snowy weather you experience at home. With temperatures remaining in the low to mid-60’s during the day, it may just feel like beach weather after all! No matter what time of year you choose to stay in a Gulf Coast vacation rental, we are excited to help you have a sweet Southern experience!
