Flora-Bama Mullet Toss

Mullets were a popular hairstyle back in the 80's and occasionally you can still see people sporting the "business in the front, party in the back" hairdo. But did you know there's also a fish named 'mullet' that can be found in coastal waters? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to toss a real mullet? Every year people descend on to the popular Flora-Bama, the world famous beach bar, for their annual mullet toss.
Event participants attempt to throw a mullet from a 10-foot circle in Florida across the Alabama state line. The cost to toss a mullet is $20 and all proceeds go to local charities. Each mullet tosser also receives a t-shirt to help commemorate their experience!
This party runs from Friday through Sunday on every last full weekend in April and includes awards ceremonies daily. There is also a cover charge beginning at 9am Fri-Sun, $10/day for 21 and up, $15 for 16-20 year old's, 15 and under are free. All ages are allowed until 6pm and then it is only for those 21 and up.
