Coastal Alabama Annual Birdfest
Enjoy viewing hundreds of bird species across multiple areas of the Gulf Coast
Southern Alabama plays host to hundreds of species of birds every year during fall migration. BirdFest brings birders and nature lovers together for a three-day event over multiple locations along the Gulf Coast. Expert guides lead walking and boat tours along the Alabama Coastal Birding Trail, that includes the Dauphin Island Bird Sanctuary, historic Fort Morgan and the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge.
This event is perfect for birdwatchers and families who enjoy a glimpse at some beautiful wildlife. There are also multiple workshops, including birding basics, how to use popular birding apps, hummingbirds and species-specific bird box design. This event helps raise money for the preservation of bird and wildlife habitats while increasing public awareness.
