Pensacola 2019 JazzFest ~ Pensacola, Florida Events by Southern
Jazz lovers rejoice! Back for its 36th year, the Pensacola 2019 JazzFest is underway. A marriage of jazz music, fine arts, and crafts, the Pensacola JazzFest takes place in Downtown Pensacola’s Historic Seville Square. This free event takes place April 6th-7th, 2019, from 10 AM – 8 PM. At the festival, you’ll find great food along with tents for beer and wine. Local and regional artists sell jewelry, art, and even handmade musical instruments. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and get ready to enjoy some great music!
Another fun addition to the event is the student jazz competition on Saturday, April 6th. High school and college students submit tapes to compete, and all students on stage are individual winners. Winners receive prize money which goes toward the purchase of musical instruments, music lessons, or music camp. Educational groups perform earlier in the day on Sunday, April 7th. Then, from the early afternoon until early evening you’ll hear everything from big-band to tight-ensemble music from national and regional artists.
