Tips for Watching the Blue Angels on Pensacola Beach

It’s that time of year – the Blues are back at the beach! We are very excited to have our Blue Angels, who call NAS Pensacola home, return to the skies over our beaches on Saturday, July 16 at 2 PM. If you’re headed down to vacation in Pensacola Beach for this incredible event, we have a few tips for making the most of your Blue Angels experience.

So, what’s our biggest tip for attending the show? Go early! With many travelers arriving on Saturday, and with a very small bridge to get you onto Pensacola Beach, traffic backs up quickly. Pack plenty of water, take that bathroom break before you head out, and charge the iPad for the kids.

Once over the bridge, stake out your spot in the sand – and your parking location. If you plan to drive to Casino Beach, we suggest parking at the east or west end of Santa Rosa Island and taking the trolley. It will run from both ends of the island, with multiple pickup locations, and will begin service early Saturday morning

The airshow begins at noon, so be back to your spot on the beach by then. But, since you’ve arrived early, don’t miss the festival-like atmosphere near Gulfside Pavilion. Here you will find activities, food, and much more. Above all else, wear your sunscreen, drink plenty of water, pack patience, and have a great time as our Blue Angels light up the sky over Pensacola Beach!
