2024 Blue Angels Air Shows in Pensacola

Pensacola Beach, Florida kicks off July with three area firework displays then follows up with the first of two Blue Angels air shows in the area. The Red, White and Blues Week soars overhead from July 10 – 13. Later in the year on November 1 – 2 the Blue Angels end a busy travel season with their Homecoming Show, so you have a second chance to glimpse their aerobatic prowess.

The Blue Angels, made up of US Navy and Marine Corps pilots, were formed in 1946 to raise public awareness of naval aviation with demonstrations precision combat maneuvers and community outreach. They feature an average of 60 shows per year in locations across the United States, two shows in Canada and two shows in Pensacola in July and November. They also can be glimpsed in the Pensacola area practicing weekly from March through November on select days.

Red, White and Blues Week offers an opportunity to enjoy multiple flight demonstrations and practices. It kicks off on Wednesday July 10 at 8am with the arrival of the Blue Angels as they circle overhead along Pensacola Beach. On Thursday, July 11 a full practice show can be enjoyed starting at 2pm. Friday, July 12 offers a dress rehearsal for the big show with the inclusion of talented civilian performers. Saturday, July 13, is the main event with aerial performances starting around noon with the Blue Angels appearing at 2pm. One local tip to avoid the congested areas during the show is to view the air show by renting a boat or pontoon. Vacation rentals around the area fill up quickly due to the show’s popularity, so it is recommended to book a stay in advance. The Blue Angels have an action-packed schedule from March to their Homecoming Show on November 1st and 2nd. The Blue Angels air shows are one of the most popular events in Pensacola and can attract crowds of more than 150,000 people. Gates open at 8:00am with the show starting at 9:30am. Admission, parking and blanket seating are free for this event while preferred seating is available for additional paid admission.
