Ziplining on the Gulf Coast

Looking for a new way to experience the Gulf Coast? Adventure seekers and adrenaline chasers, this one’s for you. Get ready to strap in (literally!) and experience ziplining over the Gulf Coast. There are a few places to try ziplining in Destin, Panama City Beach, and Orange Beach. Ziplining is an exciting one-of-a-kind experience that, if you aren’t afraid of heights, you must try at least once. Your adrenaline will be pumping in no time! The perfect accompanying activity to your late summer or fall vacation, ziplining on the Gulf Coast provides incredible stories to tell your friends and family. Not to mention, you’ll enjoy some pretty stellar views of the Gulf Coast while you’re at it!

Ziplining certainly tops our list of things to do on vacation in Destin, Panama City Beach, and Coastal Alabama. When booking your vacation rental on the beach, be sure to pencil in some time to try ziplining on the Gulf Coast! Check out our recommended list below for the best places to try ziplining. You won’t be disappointed!

Ziplining in Destin

If you’re looking for a thrill, then look no further than the zipline at HarborWalk Village in Destin, Florida. This is known as the longest zipline on the Emerald Coast (Destin and Fort Walton Beach). You’ll set sail on a 1,000-foot-long round trip over HarborWalk Village, providing you with some of the most incredible views as you cruise (literally!) over the Destin Harbor. You’ll be surprised how much you can see from this high up! We recommend trying it out right as the sun sets over the crystal blue water and white sand beaches for an unparalleled view. Two people can zipline at a time, so grab a friend and strap in for one of the best ziplining experiences around!

Ziplining in Gulf Shores & Orange Beach

Seasoned visitors to Gulf Shores will remember the original Hummingbird Zipline Course in the Gulf State Park. The popular zipline course is now located at The Wharf in Orange Beach, Alabama, less than 15 minutes away. The course is now higher and faster, covering over 6,000 feet with speeds of over 30mph. Sign us up! When you strap in and launch off the 115-foot high tower, you’ll catch views of the surrounding bays, Intracoastal Waterway, and a federally protected wetland. The tour clocks in at over two hours, ending just off of Main Street at The Wharf.

Ziplining in Panama City Beach

So now you’ve ziplined across the Destin Harbor and over The Wharf in Orange Beach… what’s next? For a new kind of experience, head to Shipwreck Island in Panama City Beach. Ziplining at a water park? Absolutely! The Great Shipwreck Ride is a replica of a 17th-century sailing ship parked right at Shipwreck Island. Guests line up to zipline off the ship and release into a deep-water lagoon pool. This isn’t like any other zipline, though, as you won’t strap in! Just hold onto the handle as tight as you can before dropping it off into the warm water.
