For those who resolved to keep up with your fitness this year, we hope you’ve been successful so far! If you haven’t, then that’s okay – you have plenty of time left in the year to start. This year, how about incorporating the best of both worlds and do yoga on the beach during your vacation? All of our areas from Panama City Beach to Gulf Shores and Fort Morgan, Alabama offer exciting opportunities to practice yoga with the waves as a backdrop. Read on below for the scoop on where to do yoga on the beach (and book your vacation with us while you’re at it!).


Panama City Beach

For those vacationing in Panama City Beach, check out A Mermaid’s Oasis. They offer free beach yoga, which sounds pretty great to us! The class meets at the studio, located at 625 Dogwood Street every Friday at 8:30 AM, before heading to Beach Access 47. Anyone can attend their free beach yoga class regardless of your skill level. They suggest you bring a beach towel, not a yoga mat, as you will have a better grip on the sand.


30A

Then, over on Scenic 30A, try your hand at 30-A Yoga with Christine and Lesa. All levels are welcome at their yoga classes, held Monday and Friday at 10 AM and Wednesday at 6 PM. They also offer private classes for everything from group functions, to weddings, retreats, and more! 30-A Yoga is located at 4164 W. County Hwy 30A near Gulf Place Town Center. Stay in a 30A vacation rental at Gulf Place Six Palms 2B during your beach vacation, as you’re less than a 10-minute walk away from 30-A Yoga!


Destin

Destin Beach Yoga believes everything is better at the beach! Their yoga at the beach classes are open for all levels, whether you’re a pro or just dipping your toes into the activity. On cooler days you’ll meet on the beach under the sun or at the boardwalk, while on warmer days you’ll practice under the boardwalk’s covered pavilion. Their classes meet at the east end of the James Lee Public Park in Destin’s Crystal Beach neighborhood. Drop-ins are welcome!



Fort Walton Beach

If you’re staying in a Fort Walton Beach vacation rental, try Dragonfly Yoga Studies. Located just over the bridge for those staying on Okaloosa Island, this classic yoga studio offers a variety of classes with a flexible schedule. They have classes for all fitness levels, including yoga for beginners, restorative yoga, active / flow classes, and Honor Class, free for members of the military and their family members. Their Saturday morning Vitality – Flow class is perfect for re-energizing and relaxing before you hit the beach!


Navarre Beach

Just a hop, skip, and a jump over the Navarre Beach Bridge into this quiet beach town is Elementree Yoga Studio. With a motto of encouraging “ALL students to grow into their fullest potential both on and off the mat,” they invite everyone to “drop their roots and stretch their limbs.” They offer classes throughout the day to attend at your leisure. Classes at Elementree Yoga Studio are separated into five elements: fire, air, water, fire, and ether depending on what your needs are. Fire classes are conducted in a heated room, while water classes help create a fluid movement within the body. Check it out for yourself!


Pensacola Beach

Meanwhile, over on Pensacola Beach, never leave the sugar-white sand while you practice yoga! Sunset Beach Yoga hosts weekly classes on Sundays at 6 PM in front of the Hilton on Pensacola Beach. With classes taught by a variety of instructors from Pensacola’s vibrant yoga community, you won’t want to miss out! Donations are accepted for each class in lieu of an attendance fee. Bring an open mind, a towel, and friends while you enjoy yoga in paradise!


Perdido Key

Just minutes away from Perdido Key’s beautiful beaches, Fish Tree Yoga invites you to practice at their 10-acre facility at 9725 N. Loop Road. You’ll love unwinding and relaxing at this scenic location. Their classes consist of lessons for beginners as well as basic, slow-flow vinyasa, open-level, and yin yoga lessons. They also offer community classes a the Flora-Bama Ole River Grill across from the Flora-Bama Lounge in Perdido Key. Their classes provide a fun and unstressful atmosphere at both locations. Anyone can attend classes, whether you’re just starting out for the first time or are a seasoned yogi! Gulf Shores

If working up a sweat during a workout is your thing, then you’ll love Glow Yoga in Gulf Shores. At Glow Yoga, their vision is “to cultivate and grow the yoga lifestyle in the communities of the Gulf Coast.” During classes, the studio is heated between 80 and 95 degrees.
