The 19th Annual Destin Cobia Tournament

Calling all anglers, it’s time to get back down to the Gulf Coast, jump aboard your favorite charter fishing boat in Destin, and cast out for cash prizes during the annual Destin Cobia Tournament.

Destin has long been known for its famous fishing and fleet. The docks are still one of the most popular places in town, whether it’s for festivals, food, or just a night out. Beginning in March, the whole of the Gulf Coast gets set for a special event, though – the annual Cobia run!

The Cobia begin migrating west toward the beginning of the month, and this tournament officially opens when the first one is caught. If you will be enjoying a spring vacation in Destin, stop by the official kick-off party at Jackacuda’s on March 3, 2016, and then get fishing.

If you want to fish the tournament, but will be staying in a Gulf Coast condo or home rental somewhere other than Destin, don’t worry. While the host weigh-in station is at HarborWalk Marina in Destin, there are several others along the beach. You can find them in Orange Beach, Pensacola Beach, and Panama City Beach. All you have to do is reel in the fish, and weigh in before the close of the tournament on April 30, 2016, at 8 PM and you could be in the money! Cash prizes range from $100 to $1000.
