Each year, United Way hosts its Day of Caring event, an opportunity for volunteers to make an impact in Okaloosa and Walton counties. Over a five-day period, people come together to help better the lives of those in our local area with some hands-on caring. Southern Vacation Rentals teamed up with S4P Synergy in Fort Walton Beach to help prepare over 200 lunches for families in need.

Volunteers can choose to participate in one or more days, helping those in need in Crestview, DeFuniak Springs, Destin, Fort Walton Beach and Niceville. The event began Friday, September 11 and will end Friday, September 18, 2015. On top of lending a helping hand to those within the community, United Way also sponsors a Day of Caring Food Drive. Participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to the breakfast that takes place each morning of the Day of Caring. The food will then be delivered to that area’s food banks.

Our Southern Vacation Rentals team was honored to participate in the 22nd annual United Way Day of Caring, our community’s largest volunteer event, and we look forward to next year.
