Introduce your kids to one of the Gulf Coast’s great past times during your spring vacation to Scenic 30A on April 26, 2015. That’s when the Coastal Conservation Association of Florida will host their annual kids fishing tournament!

Spring and early summer are some of the best times to go fishing on the Gulf Coast. And, it’s an activity the whole family can enjoy.

Here along the beaches of Northwest Florida and Coastal Alabama, all you need is a permit, rod and reel to get started. Just grab some bait and either fish from shore, your favorite pier or aboard an area charter boat. Currently in season are several species of Snapper and Grouper, as well as Amberjack. In this tournament, however, the kids will be fishing for Pompano, as their current ‘run’ through the Gulf is taking place.

In this tournament, kids will fish from the area behind the famous Red Bar in Grayton Beach. For just $15 the kids are given a rod and reel, as well as provided with pompano rigs, bait and a beach rod holder so they can comfortably fish from the sand. They will also receive a t-shirt, as well as become a youth member of the CCA.
