While it’s easy to find chains on every block, the fun part of any vacation is dining like the locals. Expand your culinary palette with our list of five restaurants you need to try in Orange Beach!
1. Villaggio Grille
This Italian fusion restaurant is sure to make your mouth water! Villaggio Grille’s menu features an array of Wood-Fired Oysters, Honey Truffle Shrimp, their signature Villaggio pizza, and more – we’re sure it’ll be hard to not order everything! Villaggio also offers a delectable brunch menu, with their popular Flatbreads and Benedicts on Bagels. Additionally, their wine menu is something spectacular – Villaggio Grille is the Wine Spectator Award Winner, 2009-2013 and 2015. They’ve also won the Diners’ Choice Award in 2018. They’re open daily from 11 AM to 10 PM, so what are you waiting for?
Villaggio Grille is located at the east entrance of The Wharf, 4790 Main Street, Suite F 108-B.
2. Luna’s Eat & Drink
Craft beer lovers unite! Luna’s Eat & Drink touts “Southern favorites and a variety of craft beers not found anywhere on the island.” This family-friendly is a popular spot among the locals! The chefs work hard to create Southern and coastal dishes loved by all, with menu items including Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Stuffed Gulf Grouper, and a “DIY” burger you can customize yourself. In addition, they offer catering through Alabama Coastal Catering and can accommodate parties of any size. Bon appetite indeed!
Luna’s Eat & Drink is located at Cosmo’s Courtyard, 25753 Canal Rd.
3. The Gulf – Orange Beach
Everybody loves The Gulf! This chic seaside hideaway is a favorite of locals and visitors alike, with locations in Orange Beach and on Okaloosa Island in Fort Walton Beach. The views are unmatched – as is the food! – and guests are invited to recline with their toes in the sand, or simply enjoy the atmosphere. Their menu items rotate daily so you’ll try something new each time, whether it’s your first or 50th visit. If you’re lucky, you’ll get a chance to try the Gulf Burger, their Smoked Tuna Dip, or Jerk Shrimp Tacos.
The Gulf in Orange Beach is located at 27500 Perdido Beach Blvd.
4. Anchor Bar & Grill
Just like at The Gulf, we love food with a view. You’ll certainly find it at Anchor Bar & Grill, where stunning views of Terry Cove will have you there from sunup to sundown. Watch the boats roll in from the outdoor dining area while you enjoy a mouthwatering burger. Their daily specials rotate, but their menu features Oyster Tots, Scallop Tacos, and their signature Anchor Wings – beer brined wings tossed in LA cane syrup sweet barbecue sauce (that’s Louisiana, not the City of Angels), and finished off with spiced peanuts. It’s no surprise that Anchor Bar & Grill is known as the Best Bar Fare on the Island!
Anchor Bar & Grill is located at 4575 South Wilson Blvd.
5. Cosmo’s Restaurant & Bar
Cosmo’s Restaurant & Bar has been an Orange Beach favorite for well over a decade, drawing in locals and visitors alike! The Corporate Chef, Jack Baker, incorporates his love of French cuisine and “down home fare” into every dish he makes, bringing out the flavor in every bite. For lunch, try the Chicken Roulade or Cosmo’s Club. If you’re staying for dinner, we recommend the Pecan Redfish or the Shrimp, Crab, & Andouille with Ziti. It’s hard to pick just one! Cosmo’s also features happy hour and sushi menus, with sushi served daily after 3 PM and all day during the weekend.
Cosmo’s Restaurant & Bar is located at 25753 Canal Rd.
