Father’s Day Activities at the Beach ~ Southern Vacation Rentals

Father’s Day is coming up on Sunday, June 16th! Are you prepared? If you ask us, there couldn’t be a better time of year for Father’s Day as there are so many fun things you can do in the summertime with Dad. Whether your dad is a foodie, a fisherman, or an avid outdoorsman, the Gulf Coast has no shortage of Father’s Day activities at the beach. Go ahead and plan your beach vacation in 30A, Fort Walton Beach, Orange Beach, or wherever Dad likes to go – the options are endless! To make it a little easier, we narrowed down our favorite Father’s Day activities at the beach that Dad will surely be talking about for years.

For the Dad Who Loves Nature

For the dad who craves a little peace and quiet, this is just the place to do it. Just about all of our areas, from Panama City Beach to Gulf Shores & Fort Morgan, Alabama, feature state parks and nature reserves for a multitude of fun. Once you’re here, you can hike, fish, camp, and even bike. The Gulf Islands National Seashore spans across the Gulf Coast as well, providing you with miles of federally protected land to explore. Rent a bike from our Southern Perks partners and explore the area in a new way. Visit places like Big Lagoon State Park in Perdido Key and Point Washington State Park in 30A to immerse yourself in nature. Need some inspiration? Check out our favorite places to hike along the Gulf Coast!

For the Dad Who Loves Food

All of our dads are certified foodies, and we’d bet yours are as well! With a wide variety of restaurants here on the Gulf Coast, Dad will be able to satisfy just about any craving. Since Father’s Day is on a Sunday, take him to The Grand Marlin, an upscale restaurant with locations in Pensacola Beach and Panama City Beach. The Grand Marlin hosts a Sunday Prime Rib Special with seasonal veggies and Chef’s potatoes he is sure to love! Also in Pensacola, the popular Five Sisters Blues Cafe is offering a Father’s Day Grab and Go special for six guests to take back to your Pensacola Beach vacation rental.

If your dad is a brunch fanatic, The Ruby Slipper in Orange Beach, Alabama is not one to miss out on. This is the perfect time to visit, as they have just added summer specials including Chicken Viera, NOLA ‘Nectar Snowball Stuffed French Toast, and a Kiwi Berry Chantilly Cream Pancake. We’ll be making our reservations here!

Or, venture off the beaten path and treat him to a sunset dinner cruise aboard Destin’s Solaris Yacht. When you want to gift him something truly special, this is it! The cruise sets sail from 5:30-8:30 PM and includes a fine dining menu of Beef Filet Mignon, Bronzed Gulf Fish of the Day, Solaris Shrimp and Grits, Southern Crab Cakes, Caribbean Glazed Chicken, and Vegetable Harvest. This is a one-of-a-kind experience with limited availability, so don’t wait!

For the Dad Who Loves a Little Fun

Nothing goes together like adventure and the beach, and if your dad loves both, then he’ll certainly love it here. Treat him to an experience unlike any other with a fishing charter, available through our Southern Perks partners. A dolphin cruise is another great option for Dad, especially if he has never had the opportunity to see dolphins in their natural habitat. Some of our Southern Perks partners will even venture offshore for deep sea fishing. This is especially thrilling for the dads who love to fish, as you can reel in a large catch when you go far out!

Golf is an activity dads seem to love by default, and one thing is for sure – the Gulf Coast is full of incredible golf courses. Destin has some of the most popular courses, so book your Destin vacation condo at Seascape Golf Villas 5B and get ready to hit the links! You can even enjoy a round of golf in Perdido Key at the Lost Key Golf & Beach Club Villas and Townhomes or the Lost Key Golf & Beach Club Towers. Not only do these two resorts have some of the best amenities around, but Dad will also love the chance to hit the links!
