Aloe Vera Ice Cubes ~ The Southern Scoop’s Travel Hack of the Month

This month we are featuring Aloe Vera Ice Cubes ~ The Southern Scoop’s Travel Hack of the Month! So you covered yourself and your family with SPF 100 sunscreen every hour all day at the beach. Somehow the fun got in the way all day at the beach and everyone looks like a steamed lobster. Thankfully, you’ve got Aloe Vera ice cubes!

What you’ll need:

~ An empty ice cube tray

~ Aloe Vera plant or store-bought gel

~ A spoon and a knife (Only needed if you’re using a plant)

Preparation:

Method #1 Using the Aloe Vera plant

~ Cut away as many leaves as you need

~ Remove the skin from the leaves

~ Using the spoon, scoop out the gel into the ice cube trays

~ Toss in the freezer (Depending on your freezer, the time required may range from 30 minutes to a few hours, however overnight is best!)

Method #2 Using highly concentrated store-bought Aloe Vera gel

~ Squeeze the gel into the ice cube tray

~ Toss in the freezer (Depending on your freezer, the time required may range from 30 minutes to a few hours, however overnight is best!)

Once the cubes are frozen, just use a cloth to hold and apply the aloe cubes onto sunburns or any other scratch or burn. Just be careful to use conservatively, you don’t want it drip everywhere!
